Diomed on the Move to Cambridge Research Park
8th October 1999 Diomed, the world leader in medical diode lasers, will be moving into its new building on the 600,000 sq ft Cambridge Research Park, on the A10 at Waterbeach, this Saturday 9th October. Diomed Ltd is growing rapidly and staff numbers have increased by 20% to more than 55 people in the last year. Diomed has recently launched a new laser for hair removal into the aesthetic market, as well as developing specially designed lasers systems for the treatment of cancer, in combination with photosensitising drugs. Because of this growth Diomed signed a lease last year for 20,000 sq ft manufacturing and administration building at the Cambridge Research Park, which was built for the company by Suon (Cambridge) Ltd, the developer of the park. Peter Klein, chief executive officer of Diomed Ltd, said "We are delighted to be relocating to the Cambridge Research Park, as the new move reflects a very exciting stage of our development. We are entering a phase where our unique technology is developing into a series of highly competitive new products." A key element of the research park, which appealed to Diomed, is the quality of its environment with buildings designed around lakes and reed beds, timber walkways, retention of natural flora and fauna and a nature reserve as part of the site.
