Diomed Building Handed Over at Cambridge Research Park
4th August 1999 Diomed Ltd, the world leader in surgical diode lasers, will become the first company to move onto the �100 million Cambridge Research Park, on the A10 at Waterbeach, following a ribbon cutting ceremony at the park on Thursday 29th July. Nic Rumsey, a director of Suon (Cambridge) Ltd., the developer of the 600,000 sq ft Cambridge Research Park, formally handed over the building to Chris Bernsen, finance director of Diomed, at the ceremony. Rumsey, said "This is an important day for the Cambridge Research Park with the handing over of the first building to Diomed. We welcome Chris Bernsen and his colleagues to the park and trust that it will live up to their expectations.It is a tribute to the development team that the project has been finished on time and on budget. "We already have another pre-let to ntl, the third largest cable company in the country, which is taking a 63,000 sq ft building. There are also several other companies with whom we are in detailed negotiations to take space on the park." Chris Bernsen of Diomed says "This is a momentous day for Diomed Ltd. and we are pleased to be moving into such an attractive congestion free environment." Suon Cambridge Ltd, is a joint venture between Carisbrooke Investments Ltd. and Suon Ltd.
