Cambridge Research Park Responds to Neighbour's Concern
13 November 2025 Suon Ltd, developer of the Cambridge Research Park, has responded promptly to landowner Gazeley's concerns over the safety and security of its property adjacent to the research park. Suon is to re-landscape the southern boundary of the site on the A10, Ely Road, Cambridge and erect a security fence. Because of the unstable boundary dividing the two properties, existing vegetation will be removed in order to allow the ground to be made stable and Suon will plant a new native hedgerow and further boundary vegetation to screen the site. The new trees will comprise species such as Hawthorn, Field Maple, Hazel, Honeysuckle, Blackthorn, Field Rose and many more chosen specifically for their screening and wildlife values. In order to maximise the success of planting young plant stock is primarily to be used for its ability to adapt to site conditions. This has demonstrated as achieving more successful growth in the short, medium and long-term. The stock will be supplemented with larger species to ensure some immediate screening effect. The work will be undertaken in two phases. The boundary adjacent to plot 2000 will be cleared and new planting established during this planting season, with that adjacent to plot 1000 being cleared and planted next year. Suon Ltd has always maintained that a key element of the Park is its environmental qualities. The site has many lakes as a consequence of historic mineral excavations and Suon aims to retain the water amenity but create a more natural fenland style environment indigenous to the area.
